Christopher Brown
Community Developer | Housing Innovator | Family-Driven Builder
Quick Facts
Christopher Brown spent twenty years as a truck driver, hauling goods across the country, before making the leap into real estate development. With prior hands-on experience in construction, particularly concrete, he was encouraged by his brother to pursue a new path. Together they worked on a project on G Street, which became the foundation for Christopher’s start in development.
From there, he steadily built his expertise—contributing to 40 units in the 2 Chelan project and the 16-unit Bird’s Mill Cottages—before taking on the role of lead developer at the 10-unit Ruth’s Landing in Tacoma.
The transition from trucking to real estate demanded a steep learning curve. With little exposure to computers or project management systems, Christopher had to quickly master budgeting, subcontractor bidding, and scheduling. Mentorship and structured guidance made the process manageable, and he soon developed the skills needed to drive projects forward.
Despite starting without personal capital or formal training, Christopher forged a path through persistence, hard work, and family support. He sees his journey as proof of shared opportunity and collaboration.
Today, Christopher continues to expand his work in Tacoma, carrying with him the grit of his trucking years, the resilience passed down from his father, and the spirit of community inspired by his family.
