1DROP Members Unveil Two Brand-New Homes at Maplewood Ribbon Cutting in Puyallup
On Thursday, August 13th, community members, local leaders, and real estate professionals gathered in downtown Puyallup to celebrate the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Maplewood Project. The event marked the completion of a thoughtful urban infill development led by lead developer Reggie Brown of Louis Rudolph and project apprentice Rasheed Thompson of 365 Homes. Transforming a single residential lot into two distinct, high-quality single-family homes, the project brings much-needed housing density and craftsman design to the heart of Puyallup.
Thoughtful Infill and Collective Learning
The Maplewood Project highlights how small-scale development can maximize underutilized urban land. The development features two distinct homes: a 1,500 sq. ft. single-story rambler and a 1,747 sq. ft. two-story craftsman home. Both residences were thoughtfully built with detailed millwork, large countertops, and color palettes inspired by Seabrook—designed intentionally to honor the character of downtown Puyallup.
Beyond the physical structures, the project served as a live platform for workforce development. Serving as site superintendent, 1DROP member Rasheed Thompson gained hands-on management experience alongside experienced trade partners. Navigating complex horizontal infrastructure and site conditions, the project demonstrated how shared learning within the collective turns real-world challenges into scalable expertise for emerging builders.
“What I got to learn through this project is going to inform how I build—it’s going to save me hundreds of thousands of dollars and save other members a ton of heartache. Reggie’s generosity in going first and letting me in to learn is going to have a compounding effect that will last for years.”
